LeadingAge NY Mourns the Loss of Scott Amrhein, CCLC President

LeadingAge NY was very saddened to hear yesterday of the untimely passing of Scott Amrhein, the founding president of the Continuing Care Leadership Coalition (CCLC).

Scott guided CCLC’s advocacy efforts in Washington, DC; Albany; and the New York metropolitan area and directed the association’s educational, policy, and consultative efforts on behalf of its continuing care members. CCLC is an affiliate of the Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA) and represents approximately 60 not-for-profit and public organizations providing post-acute and long term care services in the downstate New York area.

Prior to joining GNYHA in 1996, Scott served as the Legislative Assistant in charge of health care policy in the office of U.S. Senator Alfonse D’Amato from 1985 to 1996. He earned an MPH with a concentration in Health Policy and Management from Columbia University.

“Scott was a well-regarded and dedicated leader in the long term care field and was very passionate about the contributions of not-for-profit and public providers to quality and innovation,” remarked Jim Clyne, President and CEO of LeadingAge New York. “We worked closely with Scott over the years on several quality, workforce, and financial initiatives on behalf of our joint memberships and always valued his dedication, sound judgment, and sense of humor. We will miss him.”

LeadingAge NY extends its deepest sympathies to Scott’s family and his friends and colleagues.
