Governor Cuomo Issues Executive Order Supporting “Age-Friendly” New York

On Nov. 14th, Governor Cuomo issued an executive order directing all state agencies to incorporate “New York State Prevention Agenda priorities and the AARP/World Health Organization eight domains of livability for age-friendly communities, where appropriate, into federal and state plans, and agency policies, procedures, and procurements.” Per the announcement from the Governor’s Office, the action serves as a means to create “thriving communities” across New York that “support and attract people of all ages” and further maximize its efforts as the first age-friendly state in the country.
