2020 Advocacy Days
Thank you to all those who joined LeadingAge New York in Albany on Tues., Feb. 4th for our first 2020 Advocacy Day, held in collaboration with the Adult Day Health Care Council and focusing on nursing home, home care, ADHC, and MLTC issues.
LeadingAge New York now invites you to participate in our second Advocacy Day on Tues., March 3rd, which will be held in Meeting Room 5 on the Empire State Plaza and focus on issues related to housing, adult care facilities (ACFs), assisted living (AL), aging services programs, and Naturally Occurring Retirement Communities (NORCs). Click here to register.
Once you’ve registered for Advocacy Day, make sure to reach out to your legislators to schedule meetings! You can find your lawmakers and their contact information here. If you have never scheduled meetings with your lawmakers before, you may use this simple scheduling guide we created to get on their calendars. Once your meetings are scheduled, please forward your meeting details to Sarah Daly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Materials for Advocacy Day, including issue briefs, talking points, and other information, will be distributed beforehand. You may use these resources to educate your representatives about the challenges you face and build support for our policy agenda.
Lastly, LeadingAge New York staff are happy to help you get involved in Advocacy Day! Please reach out if you have questions, if you’d like to coordinate meetings with other providers in your area, or if you’d like to strategize which additional lawmakers from your region you should reach out to for a meeting.
