NYeC Seeks Comments on Unified Health Information Network
(Sept. 16, 2025) The NY eHealth Collaborative (NYeC) is seeking comments from participants in the Statewide Health Information Network for NY (SHIN-NY), the State's health information exchange network, on the new unified One SHIN-NY approach to end-user participant experience and support.
The One SHIN-NY model will be functionally equivalent to a single, statewide health information exchange for activities which are funded by the Department of Health (DOH). Instead of each regional Qualified Entity (QE) independently providing all SHIN-NY services to their enrolled participants, most SHIN-NY functions supported by the State will be implemented as one statewide system for all participants. Each function will generally be operated by a specific QE. In general, NYeC will contract with a QE to perform each SHIN-NY function.
More information about the unified approach is available in the Request for Comments (RFC) here. Comments are due by the end of the day on Thurs., Sept. 18, 2025. However, LeadingAge NY members who would like to submit comments and need more time are encouraged to contact us here, and the association will seek an extension. Instructions for submitting comments are contained within the RFC document.
