Resources to Be Ready for Measles
(May 6, 2025) Measles cases are on the rise in the U.S. and across the world. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has shared this resource of preparedness and outbreak response tools and communication materials. While the toolkit is aimed at public health, aging services providers may find the information helpful for communicating with staff and the older adults they serve. The CDC’s Project Firstline will deliver a webinar on May 15th aimed at preparing for and responding to a measles outbreak in a health care setting. This statement from the Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medical Association (PALTmed) provides information about measles outbreaks and protecting the long-term care community. Stay up to date on measles cases and outbreaks with this CDC page that updates every Friday.
