30-Day Amendments Webinar
DOH Medicaid Director Jason Helgerson recently hosted a webinar to review critical areas of the governor’s 30-Day Amendments to his proposed budget. The state needs to revise the current financing system for the Office for People with Developmental Disability (OPWDD) effective April 1, 2013. Mr. Helgerson outlined the corrections necessary to the OPWDD system and the resulting $1.1 billion payback to Washington for the coming state fiscal year.
To close the additional gap created by the OPWDD pay back, the administration is seeking to accelerate several MRT initiatives, including increasing the pace of mandatory MLTC monthly enrollment from 2,000 to 4,000 beneficiaries.
DOH is also anticipating CMS approval within the next couple of weeks for the Long Term Home Health Care Program (LTHHCP) patient population to begin the mandatory enrollment into MLTCs, which could also result in accelerating the rate of MLTC enrollments.
