DOH Reminds Providers to Submit Influenza Report

DOH has issued a Dear Administrator letter (DAL) reminding nursing homes, Adult Care Facilities (ACFs) and adult day health care programs that, by law, they must submit an annual report regarding their immunization efforts against the influenza virus, and, as appropriate, pneumococcal disease. DOH encourages all residents/participants and employees be immunized.

ACFs are reminded that nurses (RNs or LPNs under RN supervision) may administer the influenza and pneumococcal immunizations annually to both employees and residents of ACFs, as outlined in DOH’s Index of Equivalencies.

The immunization report is due to DOH by May 1, 2013. Click here to view the DAL and access resources to assist in completion of the report.
