Social Adult Day Care

 

 

 
Group exercise classes, such as those developed by the Arthritis Foundation, are often provided at a social adult day program.

 

Overview:  Provides organized activities, socialization, personal care (help with toileting, walking, transferring or eating), supervision of cognitively impaired individuals, and nutritionally balanced meals to older adults and disabled individuals with the goal of alleviating the need for higher levels of care that require ongoing medical services. Programs may also provide transportation, caregiver assistance, and case coordination.  Services are offered from one to five days per week, for periods of less than 24 hours.

Payment Sources:  Private pay, Area Agencies on Aging grants, Nursing Home Transistion and Diversion Medicaid Waiver (see NHTD) and Long Term Home Health Care Program (see LTHHCP)
