The SFY 2025-26 budget is now two weeks overdue. We ask LeadingAge NY members to continue to advocate with us to ensure that the needs of older adults remain top of mind for elected officials!

It is unclear whether current approved funds are in jeopardy.

The deadline for passage of the State budget has passed, and negotiations are currently ongoing. It is critical that we keep the funding needs of long-term care and aging services providers top of mind. Members are encouraged to amplify LeadingAge NY social media tools and digital advocacy resources as much as possible!

Congress has officially begun the budget reconciliation process, and key programs that support aging services are at risk. We strongly encourage our NY members to join us in protecting federal funding!

A federal judge temporarily blocked the Trump administration's early terminations of humanitarian parole for Cuban, Haitian, Nicaraguan, and Venezuelan nationals. In another development, according to reporting by news outlets, the Trump administration is terminating Temporary Protected Status for nationals of Afghanistan and Cameroon.
