DOH Issues 2025-2026 Winter Storm Season Guidance

(Nov. 10, 2025) The Department of Health (DOH) issued guidance on Nov. 7, 2025 reminding hospitals, diagnostic and treatment centers, nursing homes, adult care facilities (ACFs), home care and hospice agencies, end-stage renal disease providers, and dialysis centers of the importance of preparing for the winter weather season. It is vital for providers to review the guidance, their own emergency policies and procedures, and conduct routine maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) and backup power systems immediately. This will ensure safe and continued operation during the season and maximize patient and resident safety.
