OMIG Provides New Compliance Resources

To assist providers in implementing Medicaid compliance program requirements, the New York State Office of the Medicaid Inspector General (OMIG) has made available a Compliance Program Review Module, a webinar, and other information.

The Compliance Program Review Module must be completed by Medicaid providers when OMIG notifies the provider that it is initiating a review of its compliance program. The completed Module must be submitted along with requested documentation to demonstrate the provider's implementation of an effective compliance program in compliance with OMIG regulations.

In addition to the Module, OMIG has posted a webinar, "Compliance Program Requirements 2023," which provides an overview of the applicable regulations and additional resources. These materials are included in OMIG's Compliance Library.

Providers are reminded that OMIG recently adopted new regulations governing compliance programs, self-reporting, and managed care plans. A summary of key elements is available here, and related resources are linked here.

Providers with questions are directed to contact OMIG here.
