CDC Schedules Webinar, Provides Resources on Respiratory Infection Outbreaks

(Jan. 20, 2026) The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will be hosting a webinar on Jan. 27th titled “Preventing and Responding to Respiratory Infections and Outbreaks in Long-Term Care.” Presented by the CDC’s Project Firstline, this session will “provide the latest information on how to prevent and respond to respiratory infections and outbreaks in LTC facilities, including how to recognize a sick resident, considerations for testing, treatment, and vaccination, and infection prevention and control measures.” Registration is available here.

The CDC also continues to update resources on respiratory infections, including the Viral Respiratory Pathogens Toolkit for Nursing Homes, that will be helpful for nursing homes and other providers in addressing flu, COVID, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) outbreaks this winter.
