DOH Posts Webinar on Frequently Asked Questions for LHCSAs and ALP LHCSAs
(July 1, 2025) The Department of Health (DOH) held a webinar on June 17th for Licensed Home Care Services Agencies (LHCSAs) and Assisted Living Program (ALP) LHCSAs and shared information on Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) posed to the Department. Lori Novak, DOH Capital District Regional Manager, and Millie Ferriter, DOH Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Division Head, presented.

The webinar was chock-full of important information. Topics addressed in the webinar, include, but are not limited to:
- Emergency preparedness
- Refusal to evacuate
- Survey point person
- Office relocations
- Frequency of aide supervision
- Verification of previous employment
- Record retention
- Items on physician or Primary Care Provider (PCP) order
- Nurses providing Personal Care Aide (PCA) services
- Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) training requirements
- Wet signature on 102 form
- Health assessments
- Timing of competency completion
DOH will be holding a Lunch and Learn every month in 2025, with the exception of December. Their tentative schedule is as follows:
- July: The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care
- August: Nursing Home Transition and Diversion/Traumatic Brain Injury (NHTD/TBI)
- September: Alzheimer's Disease Program
- October: Money Follows the Person Program
- November: To be determined: A comparison of Home Health Aide and PCA duties or a guest speaker on Criminal History Record Checks
- December: No webinar; break for the holidays
