DOH Issues EVV Survey

The Department of Health (DOH) is requesting that home care providers and other interested parties complete a survey intended to gather information on how organizations are planning to submit Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) data to eMedNY. The intended participants of this survey are providers subject to EVV requirements, EVV vendors, Managed Care Organizations (MCOs), and Verification Organizations.

The survey is intended to collect technical implementation data, and so you may need the assistance of your technical staff or software vendor to assist you in your answers. Please fill out all questions as completely and accurately as possible. Later questions in the survey will be tailored to the organization type and implementation status you identify in the first survey section. Your individual responses will not be published. The survey can be accessed here and has a deadline of June 15, 2020.

As providers are aware, the federal 21st Century Cures Act requires all states to implement EVV for Medicaid providers of personal care services by Jan. 1, 2021 and home health care services by Jan. 1, 2023. There will be no extensions of these deadlines due to COVID-19. More information on the requirement is available here.

DOH's twice-a-month technical calls continue. The calendar, recordings, and slides are accessible here. These webinars are also appropriate for technical staff of providers and vendor staff as the Department moves forward with developing a system that will interface with EVV vendor platforms.
