DOH Issues DAL Updating Personal Care Aide Training Program

(Oct. 6, 2025) On Sept. 30, 2025, the Department of Health (DOH) released Dear Administrator Letter (DAL) Division of Residential Support (DRS) #25-08, which outlines an update to the Personal Care Aide Training Program (PCATP) application process.

PCATP applications are now submitted electronically via a web-based system. Per the Department, the upgrade ensures that applications are complete, while streamlining and simplifying the process. Applications are still accessed via the Department’s PCATP website, but links now direct users to the web-based application.

The DAL notes that the following applications have been updated:

Following your online submission, a copy of the application will be sent to you via email as confirmation of receipt. The materials will then be reviewed by the Bureau of Professional Credentialing and Training Programs. Those completing an application should note that it must be done in one sitting to retain information in the submission.

Questions regarding this guidance may be emailed to DOH at pcatp@health.ny.gov.
