Last Chance to Register for ACF/AL Advocacy Day

LeadingAge New York will hold an advocacy day for Adult Care Facility (ACF) and Assisted Living (AL) members on Tues., April 21, 2015 in Albany. Meetings will be scheduled with Department of Health leaders and key legislators and staff to discuss:

• enhancing the role of the nurse in ACFs;
• the need for an increase in Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Congregate Level 3 benefits in next year's budget;
• the upcoming transition of the Assisted Living Program (ALP) population into managed long term care, and related needed reforms including an ALP rate update and clarifications regarding durable medical equipment in the ALP;
• the impact of the federal home and community-based settings rule on ACF and AL settings; and
• addressing the backlog of applications for Aid and Attendance benefits for veterans.
