Kristin is the managing director of Post Acute Clinical Advisors, LLC as well as an Independent Nurse Consultant for the Connecticut Department of Public Health assisting facilities within the nurse monitor program. She has previously held positions as Director of Operations, Regional Medicare Specialist, Clinical Reimbursement Specialist, DNS and MDSC.
Kristin has been in long term care since 1985 in multiple clinical and operational capacities including MDS and reimbursement since the early 90's. Her focus at Post Acute Clinical Advisors is maintaining clinical competencies to provide quality person-centered care while managing reimbursement challenges. Kristin also assists facilities with both the clinical and operational implementation of electronic health records.
She is currently a Certified Professional Coder (AAPC), one of only a handful of OASIS Master Trainers and a master teacher for both AANAC (RAC-CT and QAPI programs) and AHRQ (TeamSTEPPS). Her years in education make her training sessions much more than just a transfer of information, but a long term supportive relationship with those who have attended programs. She has spoken locally as well as nationally on a variety of clinical and reimbursement topics, has published articles and co-authored an ICD-10 systems book. Holding multiple RN licenses in various states allows her to assist clients in federal and state regulation compliance. Kristin is currently pursuing her master’s degree in patient quality and safety.
Credit available: 1 hour of NAB credit until Aug. 8, 2019, 1 hour of CPE credit for CPAs and 1 hour of ACF/AL credit upon verification of attendance.
