On the one-year anniversary of the release of NY’s Master Plan for Aging (MPA), LeadingAge NY, AARP NY, Selfhelp Community Services, and LiveOn NY call on policymakers to prioritize advancing the MPA and confront the immediate challenges of affordability, social engagement, and access to housing and services.

LeadingAge New York is pleased to announce the graduation of the tenth class of the IGNITE Leadership Academy.

LeadingAge New York extends its appreciation to Governor Hochul and the Legislature for recognizing the critical importance of non-profit nursing homes and aging services in this year’s state budget.

LeadingAge New York members, along with Senate and Assembly lawmakers, hosted a press conference on March 19^th spotlighting the growing nursing home funding crisis and its direct impact on families across New York State.

As the budget process moves forward, LeadingAge New York will continue to work with the Governor and Legislature to protect the investments that sustain quality care, while advocating for the critical programs and supports that were left out.

The association supports the Governor’s emphasis on families and affordability, but implores her to provide financial relief to help address the real challenges faced by those who care for older adults and their families when long-term care needs arise.
