Graduation at St. Johnland

Graduation Day at St. Johnland Nursing Center featured traditional music, caps and gowns, and diplomas. Over the course of nine months, Adult Education classes chosen by popular demand and taught by St. Johnland staff members entertained and educated 30 residents, some as old as 98!

Art Awards at St. Johnland

St. Johnland Nursing Center residents won prizes in the 2018 Annual Art Exhibit, a statewide competition sponsored by LeadingAge New York. Eleven residents received certificates of commendation for their work, which will be on display in the LeadingAge offices.

Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Commack recently hosted an award ceremony for its annual Photo Contest. The event, which was held in the center’s Simon Rainbow Room, celebrated 25 years of bringing beautiful photos to its residents and featured a slideshow of the winning selections from this and previous years.

Jewish Senior Life Hosts Palliative Care Teaching Day for Finger Lakes Health Care Professionals

To ensure that health care professionals in the Finger Lakes area are knowledgeable about topics influencing palliative care today, Jewish Senior Life partnered with University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC), Greater Rochester Health Foundation, the Rotenberg family, and Finger Lakes Geriatric Education Center to host a geriatric palliative care teaching day for physicians, nurses, and social workers.
