The amendments go beyond the typical technical changes to include additional details and new proposals, some of which would negatively impact LeadingAge NY members further.

As the State Legislative session and state budget process gets underway, LeadingAge New York and its members have launched an advocacy campaign calling on Governor Hochul and policy makers to reform and invest in nursing home reimbursement and provide funding that better matches the cost of providing care.

The new law will take effect Jan. 1, 2025 and will update state code to include standards for emergency planning and preparedness for those living with a disability in a high-rise building.
