ADHC Update - Sept. 12, 2018

Please read the following ADHCC news and forward this email to those in your organization as you see fit:

  • Registration is open for the ADHC Director and Staff Training—new training curriculum for 2018!
  • National Adult Day Services Week is Sept. 16-22. Celebrate with other ADHC providers through the #adhc #ibelong social media campaign.
  • Reminder: Method 1 providers must submit copy of vendor contract(s) to DOH by Sept. 30.
  • Welcome Drue Barton, new ADHCC operations coordinator!

Register today for the 2018 ADHC Director and Staff Training. This year we are changing the curriculum and training format for a more engaging and interactive experience. No more lengthy PowerPoint presentations! Attendees will be expected to actively participate in discussions and problem solve with others. We will cover a wide-range of program director/staff responsibilities and other topics including the assessment and admission process and generating referrals. This training will be beneficial for both new and seasoned ADHC professionals. Check out the new training schedule here.

We offer the training in three locations to cut down on your travel time and costs: The Highlands at Pittsford, Pittsford (Oct. 22), LeadingAge NY/ADHCC office, Latham (Oct. 23) and Wartburg, Mt. Vernon (Oct. 25). Take charge of your professional development and register for this training today!

Join your colleagues Sept. 16-22 for the ADHCC National Adult Day Services Week social media hashtag campaign. Building off of last year’s success, we are using #adhc and #ibelong hashtags to raise awareness about ADHC. ADHC staff, registrants and caregivers are encouraged to write something meaningful on the #adhc and #ibelong templates, take a picture and post to social media. You can also post videos on how you are celebrating ADS Week. Instructions on how to participate are attached to this email as well as the #adhc and #ibelong templates. Feel free to use your own logo on the bottom rather than the ADHCC logo. Even though National Adult Day Services week is officially Sept. 16-22, you can start posting today and through the end of the month. We will be recognizing all of the meaningful posts.

Reminder: Method 1 transportation providers must send vendor contracts to Department of Health Medicaid Transportation Policy Unit by Sept. 30. In Aug., DOH sent a letter to all Method 1 programs requesting programs to submit a copy of their most current transportation contract. Contracts to DOH must be submitted by Sept. 30 via email, fax or mail. A copy of the letter is attached to this email.

For Method 1 programs that own their vehicles and do not contract with a vendor: send an email to DOH (medtrans@health.state.ny.us) stating the name and location of the program and that you do not contract with a vendor because you own the vehicles used to transport individuals to and from program.
