OIG Releases Report on Skilled Nursing Facilities

The Office of Inspector General (OIG) issued a report based on resident stays in skilled nursing facilities that were completed in 2009, outlining the areas where nursing facilities are “failing.” The report urges CMS to strengthen regulations regarding care planning, discharge planning and other areas.
