New Nursing Home Research Opportunity Through NYU

Researchers from the New York University (NYU) Rory Meyers College of Nursing are testing a survey, IN-HOME (Identifying Needs to Help Older adults Maintain Everyday community living), in a diverse nationwide sample of 150 persons living with dementia (PLWD) in nursing homes who meet eligibility criteria and 150 family care partners (FCPs). The NYU research team would visit the nursing home sites to complete the survey in person with the PLWD and conduct the FCP surveys virtually/via phone. The goal of the study is to identify supportive measures to help older adults maintain everyday community living. The survey will also help prepare nursing homes for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ (CMS) 2027 Discharge to Community – Post-Acute Care (DTC-PAC) measures that will assess successful discharges of residents not being admitted to a hospital after being discharged from the nursing home. Any questions about the study may be directed to Jasmine L. Travers, PhD, MHS, RN, AGPCNP-BC, Assistant Professor, NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing, at jt129@nyu.edu.
