LeadingAge Nursing Home Survey Data

LeadingAge New York has prepared some reports reflecting regional deficiency data of Top Ten Cited Deficiencies and Total Deficiencies Cited

As has been the case for some time, the Central Region has the most deficiencies cited and the fewest deficiency free surveys.  While other parts of the State have for the most part, transitioned to the Quality Indicator Survey (QIS), the Central Region surveyors have not yet been trained in the process and from recent discussions with Department of Health it is unlikely that training will begin for these surveyors until much later in 2016. In the Capital District Region, the number of QIS surveys has decreased due to staff turnover.

QIS surveys have typically produced deficiencies at a lower scope and severity, and as the entire process is data driven, (compliance decisions based on whether a finding(s) crosses a particular data point) many members have experienced fewer citations than with the Traditional survey.

LeadingAge NY ProCare continues to assist members in preparation for survey using both Traditional ad QIS survey tools.
