Roster Submission Deadline Extended

The Department of Health (DOH) has notified nursing homes that the deadline for submission of Jan. 27, 2016 census rosters has been extended to May 6, 2016. The note sent by DOH is copied below. The submitted data is used to calculate a nursing home's Case Mix Index (CMI) to adjust Medicaid rate for resident acuity.

As is often the case during roster submission time periods, DOH is experiencing a high level of emails and may not be able to respond immediately. We anticipate that DOH will work with providers until all issues are addressed as they have in prior submission cycles.

If you have an issue that you believe is unique or you have not had a response to roster submission concern from DOH by May 6th, please let us know.

Please keep in mind that the next "picture date" for CMI calculation purposes is July 27, 2016, which means that MDS assessments being completed now will be used in the next CMI calculation for residents who remain in the home through July 27th and have no newer assessment.

Subject: 2016-1 Collection Deadline Extension

Hello. As of close of business 04/28/2016 approximately 115 nursing facilities had not successfully uploaded and matched their census data to the matching database.  The Resident Assessment Unit is working through all phone calls and emails to assist facilities in the upload.  We realize that the process for the upload was delayed on the outset due to an access issue, therefore the deadline for uploading census data will be extended.  The deadline to submit and match census data has been extended to May 6, 2016.

Due to the volume of calls being received we ask that facilities continue to use the PRIMail@health.ny.gov address for all questions and concerns.  This allows the most people in the unit to work on issues.  Thank you.
