October 2015 Medicaid Update - New Medicaid Management Information System Training

The Department of Health (DOH) October 2015 Medicaid Update includes updates on a variety of topics and features an article on provider training for the new New York State Medicaid Management Information System (NYMMIS).

-          NYMMIS

In 2016 DOH will be transitioning to a new Medicaid fiscal agent, Xerox State Healthcare and implementing the NYMMIS.  Xerox and DOH have developed a NYMMIS Interim website to serve as an informational billboard for this transition.  The current schedule of training sessions is available under the Training and Events Calendar link on the website.

Current Training Session Descriptions:

-          Introduction to NYMMIS – A course for first time users with a focus on understanding the basic system elements and how they work;

-          NYMMIS Features and Functionality – a course to learn the basic features and functionality of NYMMIS including how to login, page layout, working with tables, how to enter information, and key links;

-          Introduction to Provider Enrollment – For new Provider Enrollments only - Learn how to use the NYMMIS to complete an electronic enrollment; and

-          Enterprise Login and Navigation – External users will be shown how to login and navigate the MMIS.

DOH is also offering a listserv that will help providers stay abreast of announcements and guidance.

Please be sure to review the entire Update for more important information from DOH.
