DOH Announces Nursing Home Assessment Reconciliation
The Department of Health (DOH) issued the Dear Administrator Letter (DAL) announcing the reconciliation of 2022 Cash Receipts Assessment (CRA) payments on March 15th. The DAL, available here, includes the form to be used to submit a correction request should you note an error in the State’s calculation. Correction requests must be submitted within 30 days to NFRATES@health.ny.gov. While the backup calculations are not yet posted, LeadingAge NY expects them to be posted shortly under the “Cash Receipts Assessments” section of the DOH Medicaid reimbursement page here. In the meantime, providers can find their 2022 reconciled CRA add-on amount on the April 2023 Benchmark Rate List here.
Please note that the retroactive adjustments reconciling the prior CRA add-on amount to the new figure back to Jan. 1, 2022 will be reflected in either Medicaid payment cycle 2430 (April 3rd release) or 2431 (April 10th release). Although the DAL states that the processing of the new CRA amounts is effective with cycle 2429, some members observed the rate change when billing for dates of service in late February.
