Association Reps. to Address OMIG Audit Concerns with DOH

LeadingAge NY staff will meet with DOH representatives on Mon., Jan. 5 to review concerns related to the controversial coding rules that have been the topic of many recent OMIG nursing home audits. During audits conducted in 2014, OMIG auditors have raised concerns about some MDS coding rule interpretations that are contrary to the current interpretation of many providers. LeadingAge NY staff have sought clarification of these interpretations to ensure that providers and auditors have some congruence in their understanding of the rules as they apply to the MDS coding.

Prior to the meeting scheduled for Jan. 5, association staff would like feedback on any controversial or unusual coding rule interpretations that have been cited or verbalized during the OMIG audit process in your facility in 2014. Please forward your feedback via email by Jan. 2.
