OMIG Posts Webinar and FAQs on Annual Medicaid Compliance Program Certification Process

The NYS Office of the Medicaid Inspector General (OMIG) posted a recording of its webinar on the annual compliance program certification process, along with a copy of the slides and questions and answers. Each year, certain entities that provide Medicaid services or supplies must certify that they are meeting State and federal compliance program requirements. Providers subject to the State certification requirement include, among others, all nursing homes and home care agencies and any other entity (including managed care plans) that receives or claims $500,000 or more in any consecutive twelve-month period from the Medicaid program. The federal Deficit Reduction Act certification applies to all entities that receive or pay $5 million or more in Medicaid funds during the federal fiscal year (October through September).

The webinar provides an overview of the annual certification requirements and introduces the forms that providers must use to complete the process. The questions and answers offer more detail on the process.
