DOH Provides Guidance on Ebola

A letter dated Oct. 31 and issued today by the Department of Health (DOH), provides guidance and signage on Ebola specifically for nursing home providers. The previous guidance for health care providers had focused on hospitals, diagnostic and treatment centers and EMS personnel. The nursing home guidance recommends education for employees and the review of DOH directives with employees who are planning to travel to affected areas. The signage, similar to signage used during flu season, discourages visitation by anyone who has travelled to West Africa in the past month.
