HUD Announces $73.5M in New GRRP Awards

On Feb. 22nd, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced $73.5 million in new loans and grants under the Green and Resilient Retrofit Program (GRRP) to HUD-assisted Multifamily Housing communities to support extensive energy efficiency and climate resilience renovations.

Only one of the 10 awards in this round was made to a Section 202 Supportive Housing for the Elderly community – a property owned by LeadingAge member National Church Residences. LeadingAge congratulates National Church Residences and encourages all HUD-assisted provider members to understand and take advantage of the tremendous opportunities presented by the GRRP, including grants, loans, and its free energy benchmarking.

GRRP applications are being accepted through the end of July 2024. Read HUD’s press release here, and find more information and resources from LeadingAge under “Energy and Climate” here.
