2022 NHTD/TBI Cost Report Due Oct. 31st

The Department of Health (DOH) reminds providers in the Nursing Home Transition and Diversion (NHTD) and/or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) waiver programs that 2022 Cost Report materials are available for filing.

A DOH communication from the Division of Finance and Rate Setting states that the due date for Calendar Year (CY) 2022 filers has now been set. All Cost Reports for these waiver program providers will be due Oct. 31, 2023. NHTD Cost Reporting information is available here, and TBI Cost Reporting information is here.

Providers may recall that this date normally would be April 30, 2023 for many filers. The Department extended the deadline in order to formally solicit feedback and gather provider questions. This week’s communication states that DOH continues to review and answer provider questions, which it will then compile into a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document. The document will be distributed along with revised templates and changes, which will also be posted on the Department’s website.

In the deadline announcement, the Department stated that they do not “want providers to feel rushed” and that they “really want to work on clarifying the problem areas.” Providers may have already submitted their reports. Once the FAQ is available, providers may resubmit the report if their agency feels that revisions are warranted. Current rates and other information on the Cost Reports can also be found on the Department’s NHTD and TBI Cost Report websites. Providers should always keep their contact information current with the Department, Regional Resource Development Centers (RRDCs), and eMedNY. Annual Cost Report submissions to the Department are mandatory for these participating providers. Failure to file may result in financial penalties. Cost Report questions may be submitted to the Department at 1915cr@health.ny.gov.
