Upcoming Changes in SSI: What You Need to Know

Effective Oct. 1, 2014, New York will transition the administration of the state portion of the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payment from the Social Security Administration to the NYS Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA).  LeadingAge NY has been working with OTDA to ensure that providers serving SSI recipients understand the changes and can educate consumers through the transition.  We hosted an audio program on May 13 to provide information on the transition objectives and timelines as well as the anticipated impact on recipients, congregate care providers and other groups.  If you missed the program, you can access a recording and related materials here

This program is appropriate for providers who work with SSI recipients in their homes, in senior housing and in adult care facilities.
