DAL Issued to ACFs Regarding Status of SSI Recipients

In October 2014, the State took over the administration of the state portion of the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefit. The Department of Health (DOH) issued a Dear Administrator letter (DAL) explaining the change and asking providers to notify the Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA) and Social Security Administration (SSA) when SSI recipients are admitted or discharged from the Adult Care Facility (ACF). The DAL explains the process and provides the form that should be used, and how to send it to the appropriate entities. It is reminded that all changes to residents’ circumstances affecting their financial status must be reported to OTDA, as well as the SSA.

Click here to view the DAL, and here to access the notification form. These letters notified the residents of the change in administration of the program.
