LeadingAge NY Managed Care Resource Updated

LeadingAge New York updated its chart summarizing the State’s plans for transitioning the long term care population into Medicaid managed care plans and the Fully Integrated Duals Advantage (FIDA) demonstration. The Sept. 8, 2014 edition of the chart reflects the most recently revised dates for mandating managed care for the community-based population in certain upstate counties, as well as the current dates for transition of the nursing home population. All dates are subject to change depending on various factors including the status of needed federal approvals, managed care plan readiness and provider network adequacy.

Most recently, the Department of Health (DOH) moved forward with the next step in mandatory Managed Long Term Care (MLTC) enrollment in Dutchess, Montgomery, Broome, Fulton and Schoharie counties. "Announcement letters" regarding the upcoming change have been sent to Medicaid fee-for-service enrollees. "Mandatory letters" will be sent during the week of Sept. 22, 2014.

Beginning Sept. 8, 2014, consumers seeking Community-Based Long Term Care Services will be directed to New York Medicaid Choice at 1-888-401-6582for education of MLTC options in their county.

Questions regarding the transition may be directed to DOH at MLTCTRANS@health.ny.gov.
