State issues communication urging providers to assist with Health-Related Social Needs assessments.

DOH reminded MLTC plans last week that they are required to contract with 1115 Waiver Social Care Networks in compliance with the "MCO Policy Paper."

Under the 1115 Waiver, the HERO will identify effective regional approaches to addressing the social needs of Medicaid beneficiaries, such as food insecurity, housing instability, and lack of transportation.

Providers are encouraged to connect with the WIO serving their region about specific next steps for their organization and how their organization and current staff might benefit from the CPT Program.

The comments supported the proposed expansions of both programs and requested additional amendments to add aide titles and current students to the CPT Program.

The first amendment pertains to the Career Pathways Training Program, and the second pertains to the Medicaid Buy-In for Working People with Disabilities. 

NYS will receive $12 million in federal funding over six years for implementation of the CMS all-payer AHEAD Model, a global budget model that seeks to transform and stabilize certain hospitals.
