Restaurant, Hotel and now Nursing Home Reviews All in One Place!
As part of a new consumer protection initiative, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Compare data will be integrated into the Yelp review pages for all of the hospitals, nursing homes and dialysis centers across the country. Individuals searching for nursing home or hospital information on Yelp will now be able to view a combination of CMS Compare summary data along with personal reviews from consumers.
In light of this new development, it is increasingly apparent that nursing home quality data is becoming more widely-used. If ever there was a time for providers to understand thier own organization's data, it is now. Here are some suggestions for being proactive in interpreting and responding to the data that is available to consumers:
- Download the Yelp app in order to periodically check the data and reviews for your own organization.
- Respond accordingly to the reviews, whether negative or positive, and utilize them as one more vehicle for improving quality.
- Take advantage of the free member benefit tools being offered through LeadingAge:
