Time Sensitive: Livanta Presentation on Medicare Case Reviews

Providers continue to struggle with issues related to the Medicare case review process for expedited/generic notices. In response to member concerns, New York's new Medicare Beneficiary and Family Centered Care (BFCC) contractor, Livanta, LLC, will host a webinar/teleconference on Mon., Dec.1, 2014.

Title: Introduction to Livanta, New York's New Medicare Beneficiary and Family Centered Care (BFCC) Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) Contractor

Target Audience: Business office, social work and clinical personnel involved with conducting Medicare reviews and issuing advance beneficiary notices.

Date and Time: Mon., Dec. 1 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Description: This presentation will provide an overview of Livanta as the Beneficiary and Family Centered Care QIO for New York. CMS recently restructured the QIO Program, creating BFCC-QIOs to focus on conducting quality of care reviews, discharge and termination of service appeals, and other areas of required review in various provider settings, to separate this work from the quality improvement initiatives of the QIOs. Livanta was selected as the BFCC-QIO for Area 1, which includes all of New York. Information will be shared on the recent transition and participants will have the opportunity to have their questions answered.

Objectives:

  • Learn about recent changes to the Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) Program
  • Understand the tasks of the BFCC-QIO
  • Learn what providers need to do
  • Hear answers to frequently asked questions.
