Winter Storm Juno

This is a reminder regarding winter storm Juno, which hit primarily Long Island and New England, that the Governor’s emergency declaration remained in effect from Mon., Jan. 26 through Mon., Feb. 2. The full text of Executive Order #141 is available here.

The finding that a disaster was imminent prompted the declaration effective within the territorial boundaries of the counties of Bronx, Dutchess, Kings, Nassau, New York, Orange, Putnam, Queens, Richmond, Rockland, Suffolk, Ulster, Westchester and contiguous counties.

For the period covered by the order, the State implemented a temporary suspension of specific provisions of any statute, local law, ordinance, orders, rules or regulations, or parts thereof, of any agency during a State disaster emergency, if compliance with such provisions would prevent, hinder or delay action necessary to cope with the disaster.

Please refer to the full text of the order for more details.

The storm also provides the opportunity to remind members of the Provider Guide on Temporary Suspension or Modification of Statutes and Regulations in New York State During EmergenciesDeveloped in collaboration with the Department of Health and various provider associations, this guide is a good reference to keep on hand in the event of an emergency.
