Visitation in Nursing Homes

CMS has issued an S&C letter reiterating guidance on visitation in the nursing home. Residents must be notified of their rights to receive visitors on a 24-hour basis. The CMS letter instructs surveyors to determine if residents are fully aware of their visitation rights and follow-up to determine if there are related compliance issues.
