ICD-10 Conversion

As of this writing, Oct. 1, 2014 is the stated deadline for all HIPAA covered entities to convert from the current International Statistical Classification of Diseases version 9 (ICD-9) to ICD-10.

LeadingAge NY is sharing with our members the following message from the New York State Department of Health:

New York State Department of Health ICD-10 Readiness Survey

"The New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) will be transitioning to ICD-10 diagnosis and procedures codes on Oct. 1, 2014 … the transition to ICD-10 will not impact CPT codes.  NYSDOH would like to learn more about providers’ readiness for the upcoming ICD-10 implementation and ask that you complete and submit the following brief and anonymous survey that will be used to help design and target our communications and implementation efforts.  Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete the survey.”

Please click here to access the survey.

For more information on ICD-10 and the Oct. 1 conversion, please refer to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services ICD-10 resource page.

For NY Medicaid specific ICD-10 information, please refer to the eMedNY resource page.  Please note that Medicaid will begin ICD-10 provider testing on July 28, 2014.
