Data Submission Open for AHRQ Nursing Home Survey

In response to nursing homes interested in a survey that focuses on patient safety culture in their facilities, AHRQ sponsored the development of the Nursing Home Survey on Patient Safety Culture. The survey, released by AHRQ in 2009, is designed specifically for nursing home providers and emphasizes resident safety issues. It includes 42 survey items measuring 12 dimensions and it takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes to complete. Many nursing homes using this survey expressed interest in comparing their results to other nursing homes. In response, the AHRQ established the Nursing Home Survey on Patient Safety Culture Comparative Database. This database is a central repository for survey data from nursing homes that have administered the AHRQ patient safety culture survey instrument.  Data submission is open from April 1 - April 21, 2014. Data may be submitted to the AHRQ website. The Nursing Home Survey on Patient Safety Culture, along with a Users’ Guide, additional resources and FAQs released in 2009, are also available.
