Multi-state Measles Outbreak

The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in conjunction with state health departments, are warning of a multi-state measles outbreak associated with travel to Disney theme parks in California and Florida. For member convenience, a copy of the Health Alert Network advisory is available on our website.

According to the CDC, the United States is experiencing a large multi-state measles outbreak that started in California in December 2014 and has spread to six additional states and Mexico. New York is not listed among the states impacted by the current outbreak. However, the CDC and the Department of Health are advising health care providers to be alert regarding any patients that traveled to the Disney theme parks or other areas frequented by international travelers.

Please refer to CDC advisory for complete details.
