DOH Seeks Input on ICD-10 Readiness

On Oct. 1, 2015 the ICD-9 code sets used to report medical diagnosis and in-patient procedures will be replaced by ICD-10 code sets. The Department of Health (DOH) is getting ready for the eMedNY system transition for diagnosis and procedure codes. The transition will not impact CPT codes.

DOH is proactively seeking information about readiness of providers for the upcoming implementation of the ICD-10 coding system by means of an online survey. Information from the survey will assist DOH with planning implementation processes and upcoming communication as we get closer to the conversion date. We are encouraging members to complete the survey to help DOH assess the current level of readiness for the conversion. Click here to access the survey.

LeadingAge NY ProCare is sponsoring workshops Wed., June 17 and Thurs., 18 to familiarize staff responsible for coding with the organization and structure of the new code set, and the similarities and differences between ICD-9 and ICD-10. Click here for program brochure and details. In addition, ProCare has certified consultants able to provide individualized assistance with the conversion at the facility level.
