DOH Posts FAQs on FIDA Reforms

The Department of Health has released answers to "frequently asked questions" (FAQs) about reforms to the Fully Integrated Duals Advantage (FIDA) program announced in Dec. 2015. The FAQs are available here. They cover a variety of issues including, among others:

  • the suspension of passive enrollment;
  • the elimination of mandatory interdisciplinary team (IDT) training for primary care physicians (training is still encouraged);
  • authorizing primary care physicians to approve person-centered service plans without participating in IDT meetings;
  • measures for assessing plans' IDT performance;
  • FIDA reimbursement for behavioral health services;
  • UAS assessment frequency;
  • reimbursement of out-of-network services; and
  • the obligation of FIDA members to pay Part B premiums, if they are not otherwise eligible for the Medicare Savings Progam.
