Design Grants Available for Pre-development Projects

The Pre-development Design Grant funds design exploration and visioning in the early stages of development, and seeks to raise the standard of design excellence in affordable housing.

Developers who want to engage in a creative and robust early design process for one of their emerging development projects can learn more and submit their application by the July 10 deadline.

Each developer grantee will receive $20,000 to initiate a collaborative and creative process to define project goals, identify challenges and explore multiple design solutions in the pre-development phase.

This process will begin with an architect competition, and as the project moves forward, will include feasibility and green charrette workshops to address sustainability and community engagement goals.
