Update on the Quality Incentive/Vital Access Provider Pool (QIVAPP) Process

As previously reported in Intelligence, LeadingAge NY, with other home care associations, expressed concern to the Department of Health (DOH) on the process and eligibility criteria of Quality Incentive/Vital Access Provider Pool (QIVAPP) funding. We submitted a joint letter in May to DOH.

On Aug. 17th LeadingAge NY along with other home care associations, followed-up on the joint letter by meeting with DOH. We requested greater detail on the qualifications for participating in QIVAPP, the appeals process when there are eligiblity discrepancies, funding reconciliation, the status of federal share discussions, and proposed strategies for the next year of QIVAPP funding. Going forward LeadingAge NY, with other home care associations, has been invited to attend DOH monthly meetings on the topic.

We will continue to keep members informed on any developments as a result of these meetings.
