First Meeting of the NHTD and TBI Waiver Transition Subcommittee

LeadingAge New York previously announced that we are serving on the Nursing Home Transition and Diversion (NHTD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) waiver transition workgroup. As a follow-up to the first NHTD and TBI Waiver transition workgroup held on Aug. 24, 2015 materials were posted to the MRT #90 website.  Page two of the minutes includes a listing of the five subcommittees. The first NHTD/TBI waiver transition subcommittee meeting will be held on Oct. 6, 2015. The agenda for this daylong meeting includes: services and workforce, outreach and education, UAS-NY, and finance and rates.

This follows the Department of Health (DOH) extending the effective date for both the NHTD and the TBI populations to transition to mandatory Medicaid managed care to Jan. 2017. DOH formed the workgroup as part of the agreement to delay the transition of the two waivers. The workgroup subsequently developed a process that includes the subcommittee initiatives.
