How Can Assisted Living Serve More Medicaid-Eligible People with Dementia?

In this year's Medicaid Redesign Team (MRT) Affordable Housing budget allocation plan, the State has designated funds to expand assisted living services for the Medicaid-eligible "special needs" population.  Currently, Medicaid-eligible people with dementia or Alzheimer's disease that require specialized services have few options for assisted living in New York. We are exploring how targeted investments could result in Medicaid savings. Members are invited to participate in a brief, focused work group on this issue, with the ultimate objective of providing the State with some working concepts by the end of the summer. Please contact me if you are interested in participating.
