DOH Issues Notification Regarding Enhanced Influenza Surveillance

The Department of Health (DOH) has issued a notification regarding enhanced influenza surveillance beginning the first week in October 2014 through the third week in May 2015.  The notification outlines reporting requirements for providers including nursing homes, assisted living/adult care facility, outpatient settings and hospitals.  We recommend that these members review the notification carefully.  Click here to view.  Below are some resources that may be of interest to members:

• General resources on influenza, including vaccine information, are available on the DOH public website here, and the Centers for Disease Control website here.
• Information for health care workers about documentation of vaccination against influenza, or wearing of a surgical or procedure mask is available on the DOH public website here.
